PRIDE INSIDE IRELAND IS STILL GOING STRONG! LOTS MORE TO SEE AND DO FOLKS!
In preparation for Pride Inside, which brings together seven Pride Festivals across the West of Ireland and takes place between Saturday, July 11th – Sunday, July 19th, 2020, a new GoFundMe page has been set up to help sponsor the Pride Festival.
Many of our Pride organisations had to postpone not only our Pride Festivals themselves but many fundraising opportunities too! So, if you can at all please do donate to our GoFundMe and help us to bring Pride Inside to your PC, Tablet, or Home Sharing device this month and to help all our Prides get back into the running for 2021 with a bang!
Click the link below and be redirected to our GoFundMe account and even if you can’t donate please share the link HERE!

Full Spectrum: Disabled LGBTI+ Peer Network
Image 1: “A wheelchair symbol, an Infinity sign and a raised fist all share a rainbow flag background”
First meeting: Tuesday 14th July 2020 at 7.30pm – 8.30pm
Full Spectrum is a new national network for disabled people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Intersex, Asexual, Non-Binary, or simply non-heterosexual in orientation / gender identity.
We are launching a regular virtual community drop-in space by and for disabled LGBTI+ people. This will be a safe and welcoming peer-support space where we can come together to get to know each other, share experiences, support one another and build a community identity.
If you identify as disabled, and identify as LGBTI+ (or any other letter of the alphabet!), then you are welcome to join our space of equals. There are currently three people acting as a steering group; Maureen, Niall and Isolde. At least one of us will be present at each session to facilitate discussions and deal with the inevitable technical hitches. We are delighted to be supported by ILMI (Independent Living Movement Ireland), who can offer technology training for anyone unfamiliar with using the Zoom platform. You do not need to be a member of ILMI to take part.

Today from 6.10pm messages from the Irish LGBTIQA+ Community will be broadcast globally across a number of digital platforms including www.globalpride2020.org and Todrick Hall’s YouTube channel.
In the meantime tune in and check out many of the other live streams from all over the globe!
So as you may have read in our online statement Sligo Pride Festival 2020 has been postponed until August 2021! This is indeed sad news as we were so looking forward to seeing you all again this year. However, Sligo Pride is the reigning champion of the ‘Pride Comeback’ and we know a lil’ something about bouncing back! 😉
Keep checking in with our Facebook Page and our Facebook Event as we’ll be announcing a Winter Pride treat like no other very soon! As well as lots, lots more to keep you feeling the SPIRIT OF PRIDE!
This year Sligo saw the return of Sligo Pride Festival to the streets of Sligo City. Hundred turned out to show their Pride and solidarity with members of the LGBT+ community in Sligo and the North-West. We will be hosting a public consultation and AGM on Friday, September 13 from 4pm until 6pm in Sligo City Hall.
This is the first time in history of Pride in Sligo in which a public AGM will be hosted in Sligo City Hall. We are looking forward to meeting with the wider Sligo community to hear your thoughts on Sligo Pride 2019 and plans for the future. Pride is both a celebration and a continued protest, as such it makes sense to send a clear message that LGBT+ members of the community are supported by their local government.
If you are interested in joining the Sligo Pride Committee or volunteering with us over the next year to make Sligo Pride Festival bigger and better next year, please do get in touch with us. Email us at info@sligopride.com or contact us through our website www.sligopride.com. You can also find us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
