Sligo Pride Postpones until August 2021!

Sligo Pride Committee has made the tough decision to postpone Sligo Pride Festival until August 2021. This postponement comes as we want to be able to provide a safe, secure and enjoyable Pride Festival for everyone in Sligo and the North-West region, as such we will be focusing on building for Pride 2021.

It's become very clear that what we need to do as a community right now is to STAY AT HOME, SUPPORT THOSE WHO CAN'T, MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING, WASH OUR HANDS, LOOK OUT FOR THOSE WHO MAY BE MORE VULNERABLE and above all, BE KIND TO YOURSELVES AND OTHERS.

Sligo Pride is part of the wider Pride Movement and so we know that in staying IN THIS TOGETHER we can accomplish a lot! So please Stay Home, Stay Safe and Stay Proud!

Bród Shona,
Sligo Pride Festival

So as you may have read in our online statement Sligo Pride Festival 2020 has been postponed until August 2021! This is indeed sad news as we were so looking forward to seeing you all again this year. However, Sligo Pride is the reigning champion of the ‘Pride Comeback’ and we know a lil’ something about bouncing back! 😉

As such we’re just postponing, we’ll be back in 2021 teaming up with Sligo Summer Festival, The Outing Festival & Dublin LGBTQ Pride to bring you the very best that Pride has to offer!

Keep checking in with our Facebook Page and our Facebook Event as we’ll be announcing a Winter Pride treat like no other very soon! As well as lots, lots more to keep you feeling the SPIRIT OF PRIDE!

Sligo Pride Public Consult & AGM 2019

This year Sligo saw the return of Sligo Pride Festival to the streets of Sligo City. Hundred turned out to show their Pride and solidarity with members of the LGBT+ community in Sligo and the North-West. We will be hosting a public consultation and AGM on Friday, September 13 from 4pm until 6pm in Sligo City Hall.

This is the first time in history of Pride in Sligo in which a public AGM will be hosted in Sligo City Hall. We are looking forward to meeting with the wider Sligo community to hear your thoughts on Sligo Pride 2019 and plans for the future. Pride is both a celebration and a continued protest, as such it makes sense to send a clear message that LGBT+ members of the community are supported by their local government.

If you are interested in joining the Sligo Pride Committee or volunteering with us over the next year to make Sligo Pride Festival bigger and better next year, please do get in touch with us. Email us at info@sligopride.com or contact us through our website www.sligopride.com. You can also find us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
